Dr. Tim Liao visited us April 5 both to present on his most recent research AND to present in person the second Annual Tim Futing Liao Graduate Student Publication Award, which he endowed two years ago. The award is presented to a UGA Sociology graduate student in recognition of excellence in published scholarship. This year’s winner was Makeiva Jenkins, for her article in Du Bois Review: Social Science Research on Race, entitled “The weight of it all: An analysis of help-seeking behavior among Black and White college women.” Congratulations, Makeiva, and thank you, Tim!
