Diana Graizbord

Assistant Professor

Diana Graizbord is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. During the 2020-2021 academic year, Diana was a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. 

Diana received her Ph.D in Sociology from Brown University where she was an NSF-IGERT Fellow in Development and Inequality in the Global South. She also holds degrees from The New School’s Milano School for International Affairs, Management and Policy and Sarah Lawrence College. Her research and teaching interests include Theory, Political Sociology, Sociology of Knowledge, Science and Technology Studies, and Globalization and Development. Her current research examines the role of technocratic knowledge and expertise in democratic politics in contemporary Mexico. Diana serves on the Faculty Advisory Boards of the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts and the DigiLab.

Diana is committed to engaged scholarship and has organized and participated in several critical policy and public sociology activities. Currently she is collaborating on a project dedicated to expanding the role of sociological ethnography and digital storytelling in policymaking.
